Lagos deputy gov Hamzat urges religious groups to encourage members in politics

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, has urged faith-based organisations to encourage their members to actively engage in politics.

This was made known in a statement on Sunday titled “Hamzat, Shekarau advocate FBOs collaboration on good governance.”

According to the statement, Hamzat made the call to religious groups during a workshop organised by the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Faith Society on Sunday.

FG urges political parties to support women in politics

With less than two years to the 2023 general elections, the Federal Government has urged political parties to be more flexible in supporting women to win elective offices.

FG specifically urged political parties to deliberately leave some offices exclusively open for only women to contest.

The Minister of State (Labour and Employment), Festus Keyamo (SAN), said this during the capacity strengthening training workshop on advocacy and communication for women cooperatives from the Nigerian for Women Projects, which just ended in Abuja, on Thursday.
