An Oklahoma native who received more than one million dollars in college scholarships is back in her hometown teaching high schoolers how to do the same!

The last time News On 6 caught up with Raylynn Thompson was in 2019. She was a Muskogee High School Senior who had received 64 college acceptance letters and more than one million dollars in scholarships.

“You really have to keep applying to as many as you see and never stop because you never know where you are going to land,” said Raylynn Thompson, current student at Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi.

Galls, One Lexington create scholarship for minority students at Bryan Station High School

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Galls and One Lexington created a scholarship called Be the Change. It’s for minority students in Bryan Station High School wanting to pursue a career within the criminal justice system.

Eliza Tolley-Higgins is finishing up her last five months of high school at Bryan Station. She’s been meeting with her school’s college and career coach, Brandy Ashford, to plan out her next move before graduation.

She’s leaning toward being a criminal defense attorney.

Middleton Place expands scholarship program for African American students | News

The financial assistance is appreciated, but Juanita Barr’s scholarship came with an acknowledgement of past wrongs, and that’s especially gratifying to her.

Last year, Barr received $2,000 from Middleton Place Foundation to help pay for graduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in nutrition sciences.

Michigan university offering scholarships for new students to live on campus, attend financial aid workshops

BIG RAPIDS, MI – Ferris State University is offering two new scholarships totaling $4,000 that are available to students who sign up to live on-campus and attend a free financial aid workshop.

The Bulldog Bonus Scholarship and Bulldog Housing Bonus Scholarship are available for new freshman and new transfer students for the Fall 2022 semester, the university announced last month.

Alumni establish Scott and Tammy Cowan Scholarship Endowment for APSU students

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Austin Peay State University alumni Scott Cowan (’91) and Tammy Cowan (’92) recently made a generous donation to establish the Scott and Tammy Cowan Endowment for APSU students.

To be eligible, students must be APSU juniors or seniors with a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or above. Two Guilford students win full-ride scholarships worth more than $200,000 | Positive Local News

The school district made the announcement Thursday.

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Two Guilford High School students will have the next four years of college fully paid for—including tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies and travel. 

Anju Griffeth and Caleb Bondzi were named QuestBridge College Match Scholarship Recipients last week. Anju will attend Stanford University, and Caleb will attend Boston College.

They are two of 1,674 scholarship applicants admitted to 45 partner colleges and universities through QuestBridge and granted a full, four-year scholarship worth over $200,000 each.
