Schreyer Establishes Scholarship To Honor Student Who Died From COVID-19

Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College has established the Neil C. Patel Memorial Changemaker Honors Scholarship in memory of a student who died from COVID-19-related complications earlier this year.

The scholarship serves a tribute to Patel and a way to encourage students who share his commitment to family, community, education, and opportunity. The endowment will provide annual awards for Schreyer students who exemplify Patel’s dedication and passion.

Memorial scholarship established to honor Nashville teacher

MADISON, Tenn. (WTVF) — It’s the one year anniversary of the death Rasheed Walker.

On Sunday, November 14, the family held a celebration of life in his honor at Madison Park.

At just 31 years old, Walker was shot and killed last year outside the Wireless Z store on Dr. D.B. Todd Junior Boulevard.

Walker was a beloved teacher aide at Cora Howe School, helping special education students.

He was also a youth mentor — always advocating for students to seek higher education.

MONTICELLO — The Literacy Volunteers of White County has established a scholarship in honor of Alma Colleen Shook, who passed away recently.

The yearly scholarship is for $500 toward helping anyone to become a citizen of the United States.

Shook was one of the original founders of the organization back in 1990. She was treasurer of the organization for a long time and one of its tutors. Her biggest joy was tutoring adult learners who wanted to learn English as a second language or become citizens.

Motorcycle ride event to raise scholarship money in honor of Warwick students killed in 2018 car crash | Local News

The Jack & Meghan WarwickStrong Memorial Scholarship committee has scheduled a motorcycle ride and community gathering in July to raise money for its next round of giving in honor of two students killed by a motorist in 2018. Motorcyclists are invited to participate in the 11-mile scholarship ride from the Mount Joy area to Lititz at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at LCBC, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim. Riders will travel Route 772/Rothsville Road east to Lancaster Evangelical Free Church at 419 Pierson Road, Lititz.
