Scholarships awarded to eight outstanding high school graduates

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., April 26, 2021 – The LPGA Foundation announced today the five high school graduates selected to receive the 2021 Marilynn Smith Scholarship, as well as two graduates awarded the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship and one awarded the Dinah Shore Scholarship. These eight students went above and beyond with their outstanding academic excellence and leadership skills and were active in their communities, while also fulfilling specific requirements for each scholarship award.

Victory Yinka-Banjo gets 19 scholarship offers from US and Canadian universities

Victory Yinka-Banjo, a 17-year-old high school graduate, was offered more than $5 million dollars’ worth of scholarship money for an undergraduate program of study, according to admission documents and estimates of financial aid awards.

“It still feels pretty unbelievable. I applied to so many schools because I didn’t even think any school would accept me,” Victory told CNN, relishing her academic prowess.

COVID-19 likely cost some high school athletes scholarships this year

After helping his Del City squad win the Class 6A boys basketball championship and being named to the all-tournament team, senior Sherrod Davis tweeted: “I was the most underrated dual sport athlete in Oklahoma “

His high school football coach at Del City, Mike Dunn, said COVID-19 is the reason.

Buckeyes offer scholarship to 2022 Florida athlete

The Buckeyes have offered a scholarship to a talented athlete from Florida. Kye Stokes from Seffner (Fla.) Armwood. Stokes posted the offer on his Twitter account this afternoon.

“WOW, after a great conversation with coach Tony Alford I am beyond blessed to receive an offer from THE Ohio State University !!!,” Stokes posted on his Twitter account.

Seema Kumari, a graduate of the YUWA class of 2021 has now received a Harvard University scholarship.

Harvard University reportedly had a low acceptance rate this year but Seema managed to battle against all hurdles a secured a spot for herself. This was because the university had just 3.4 per cent of applications this year. ‘Color Run’ raises scholarship money for Senior students with a noble purpose

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA (KWWL) — Members of the Cedar Falls community got together at “Big Woods Lake” Sunday afternoon, to run a 5 kilometer race with colors decorating the way.

The 2021 Color Run event was hosted by non-profit organization, ‘Do Better, Be Better’, with the intent on raising scholarship money for senior students who have either been through a medical hardship or has helped someone through a medical hardship. The scholarships are about $1000 a piece.

The event today saw about 120 participants.

The program was founded by Jamie Smith who suffered a stroke while 15 weeks pregnant

Philly Teen Entrepreneur Wins Prestigious Gates Scholarship and Over $2 Million in Presidential Scholarships

Bodine High School student Akayla Brown was selected as a Gates Scholar. She will receive a full scholarship to the university of her choice.

The 18-year-old was one of 300 seniors selected for this scholarship. There were over 34,000 students who applied for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation scholarship nationwide.
